Blackjack
Blackjack is a card game of which the purpose is to beat the bank. The purpose of the game is to gather 21 points, or get as close as possible to those 21 points. However, you cannot go over 21 points! If you do, you lose.
You play the game against the bank, called the dealer. The dealer deals the cards. Only a combination of 2 cards that make a total of 21 points is called Blackjack. For instance, the cards 9, 7 and 5 make 21, but are not Blackjack. If you draw Blackjack, you get 2.5 times your bet.

The game
Determine your bet
You place your bet by placing chips with the value that you choose on the table. Each table has a minimum and maximum bet.
Deal
You get two cards from the dealer, and the dealer deals a card to himself.
Hit or Card
This means that you want another card. However, if this card brings your points over 21, the game is over. If, after adding the score of the card to your total, you do not have 21 yet, you can choose from one of three options.
- Stand, or Pass: this means you do not want another card. You choose this option if you think your current score will be enough to beat the bank, or if you think you cannot improve your current score. If you click "Stand/Pass", the dealer will start dealing himself cards. The dealer is required to take cards, until he reaches a score of at least 17 points. This means you can also win if you have a score of a 'mere' 16 points. If the dealer has a lower score than you have, or reaches a score of 22 or more, you win. You will win two times your bet. If the dealer has a higher score than you do, you lose your bet. If you both reach the same score, you get your bet back (this is called a Stand Off).
- Double: you can choose to double up if you get 9, 10 or 11 points. Doubling up means you double up your bet, and only get one more card. After this card, you cannot ask for any more cards. Doubling is a way to raise your bet during the play, when you have a score that has a relatively big chance of winning.
- Split: you can choose to split if you get two cards that are the same. So for example
or
. If you split these, you create two new hands. This also means you double your bet, because you are now playing two hands. Both hands get another card, and each hand progresses as a normal game.
Insurance
If the first card the dealer deals himself is an ace, you can buy insurance against Blackjack. This insurance costs half your original bet. Then, if the dealer turns out to have Blackjack, you get paid twice your insurance (which equals your original bet).
