Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Stud Poker is a variation of poker. You play with the hand you are dealt, there is no drawing of cards in Caribbean Stud, so you don't have to decide which cards you want to keep. Purpose of the game is to get a hand which has a higher value than the bank's hand.

Each player begins by placing their bets in the "Ante" area, and clicks the "Deal" button. Players receive five cards, that are displayed to everyone. The bank gets four closed and one open card. Players evaluate their hand, and decide to do one of two things:

  1. FOLD. The game stops and the player loses the amount that he bet.

  2. PLAY. The player places a bet in the ante area. This "back bet" has twice the value of the ante bet.

The cards of the bank are all placed open on the table, and compared to the hand of the player (if he decided to play). To qualify, the hand of the bank needs to consist of an ace and a king or better. If the bank does not quality, the player receives one time his ante. There is no payout on the back bet (stand off).

When the dealer has a high card with an ace and king or better, your hand is compared to the dealer's hand. Then, there are three possibilities:

  • When the hand of the dealer is better than yours, you lose the ante bet and the extra bet.

  • When the hand of the dealer equals yours, there is a stand off and you can keep your bets.

  • When your hand is better than the dealer's hand, your ante bet is paid out once and the extra bet is paid out depending on the hand you have.
