Johnny Moss

Johnny Moss played poker every day for almost his entire life, even until his 89th birthday. Moss came from Texas and played the underground poker circuit in the south of the US, just like Doyle Brunson. He was eventually respected as one of the best traveling poker professionals of the world. In 1949 he played the best heads-up game of all times in Las Vegas, against Nick "The Greek" Dandalos. The duel became a Five-Card Stud marathon that lasted for 21 weeks(!).

When Moss moved to Las Vegas later, he took over the Dunes Poker Room. It was home to a many high stakes poker games. Moss won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) three times. Along with Stu Ungar, he was the only player to win the title this many times. Johnny Moss died in 1997.
