Stu Ungar
Ever since Stu Ungar entered the Las Vegas poker scene at the end of the seventies, he came up with an entirely new way of playing. "The Kid" as he was called because he looked so young, was a master at the card table. As a kid, he grew up in New York and was a very talented gin rummy player. His gift was so big that no one dared play him anymore. That's why, at 24, he moved to Las Vegas to enter the biggest poker games he could find. Stu Ungar won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) as well as the Super Bowl of Poker three times. No other player ever succeeded in winning both tournaments. His lifestyle however could be considered very destructive, as he had many private problems. He was addicted to drugs, which eventually led to his tragic death in 1998. "The Kid" was 45 when he died. A fantastic book was written about Stu Ungar. The book was written in English. Click here for the reviews or if you want to order the book. Also, in 2003, a DVD was released about Stu Ungar's life.
